Calculate Miles from UOB PRVI Miles American Express Card

Let’s assume you make an average monthly spend of S$2,000, out of which S$1,500 is spent locally and S$500 is spent overseas. Considering the miles-earning rate, you will get:

    • Local spend – S$1,500 = 3,600 miles
    • Overseas spend – S$500 = 700 miles
    • Yearly miles accrual at a similar rate – (3,600+700) x 12 = 51,600 miles

Miles can be redeemed at the rate of 10,000 KrisFlyer or Asia Miles for UNI$5,000. Redemption can only be made in blocks of UNI$5,000. The following table illustrates the number of miles you can redeem for different destinations and different airlines, for both single-trip and return ticket plans:

Singapore Airlines/Silk Air Qatar Airways/Cathay Pacific
One way ticket to Europe 38,000 miles (Economy Saver) 40,000 miles (Economy)
Return trip to Japan 50,000 miles (Economy Saver) 45,000 miles (Economy)

Note: These numbers are indicative and not to be taken at face value.

    Redeeming your Earned Rewards

Miles are credited into your card account in the form of UNI$. You earn UNI$6 (= 2.4 miles) for every S$5 spent on overseas foreign currency spends, UNI$3.5 (= 1.4 miles) for local payments, and UNI$15 (= 6 miles) on bookings through partner sites.

The UNI$ earned is shown in the monthly statements sent to you. You can also visit uob.com.sg/rewards, log in to your UOB Mobile app, or call the 24/7 hotline to check your UNI$ balance or make redemptions. These rewards can be redeemed in the following ways:

    • Air miles under the frequent flyer programme/miles conversion programme. The conversion rate is 2 air miles for every UNI$1 earned. However, you will be charged a fee of S$25 every time you convert UNI$ into air miles.
    • Rewards vouchers in categories such as dining, retail shopping, online shopping, travel and leisure, at several outlets in Singapore listed under the Instant Rewards programme. The conversion rate depends on the value of the voucher or item you’ve chosen.
    • Instant conversion of UNI$ to discounts at stores listed under the Instant Rewards section of UOB’s programme.

This credit card can be activated by using one of the methods listed below:

    • Walk in to the nearest UOB branch in person.
    • Call the 24/7 dedicated hotline number.
    • Download and fill the card activation form and mail it to UOB.
    • Visit your nearest UOB ATM.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

UOB credit cards provide you the option of paying for your big ticket purchases such as luxury shopping items or insurance premiums in the form of flexible monthly payments. This instalment payment plan (IPP) is called UOB SmartPay, and it allows cardmembers to divide their payments into tenures of 3, 6, or 12 months. This IPP is characterised by 0% interest, and a low processing fee charged only once. Besides, you can easily and swiftly apply for the facility through Personal Internet Banking, SMS, or by using an online form.

The following table illustrates the interest and processing fee charged against different tenures:

Term Processing fee Effective interest rate
    3 months 3% 18.18% p.a.
    6 months 3% 10.43% p.a.
    12 months 5% 9.5% p.a.

Cash Withdrawal on the Credit Card

Through the cash advance facility, you can withdraw money from your credit card through an ATM or via funds transfer to a bank account. You could also use phone banking and SMS banking to instruct the bank to move the amount from your card to a linked account.

The amount you can withdraw is whatever credit limit is remaining on your card, or up to 75% of your credit limit, whichever amount is lower. You cannot take out more than S$3,000 from a UOB ATM on a given day, and you cannot withdraw less than S$200 a day through SMS, ATM or Phone Banking. Interest on cash advance is payable from the date of transaction and there is no grace period.

    Eligibility Criteria

It is important that you apply for this card only after making sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. Visit this page to find out more.

    Lost/Stolen cards

You must inform the bank as soon as possible, if your credit card is stolen or lost. Besides, you must file a report with the police and submit the report to UOB, if it is deemed necessary. You can reach UOB in such a scenario by calling the hotline number either from Singapore or overseas.

However, UOB shouldn’t find you responsible in any manner for the loss or theft of the card. Your liability will be restricted to S$100, if you stick to these conditions.
