UOB Delight Credit Card

    The Delight Credit Card is a rebates card issued by the UOB Bank in Singapore. This card offers various perks and rebates on purchases at several merchants. The card is very useful for those who have higher grocery and departmental store spends. It also provides travel and dining privileges.

    UOB also provides Delight Debit Card which comes with rebates on purchases at various participating merchants, and travel and dining privileges in Singapore.

    • You can make contactless payments using your Apple Watch or iPhone, and earn the similar rebate without even presenting your credit card physically at the store. This payment gateway is secure as your card is never used or shared with any merchants physically.     • The card can be used across the world for cash withdrawals. Be mindful that cash withdrawals will have cash advance fee.
    • This card has a special feature of same-day card delivery. You can get your card delivered on the same day if you complete your online application and successfully upload your documents before 1:00 p.m.


    • You can get up to 75% discount on hotel stays across the world. This is available through the bank’s Travel & Transport deals.

    • Enjoy up to 20% fuel savings using your UOB Delight Credit Card at UOB’s fuel partners such as Shell and SPC. At Shell, you can earn up to 13.6% (consisting of Shell rebates, Shell Escape membership rebates, and 4% SMART$ rebates), and buying petrol from SPC will give you a maximum of 20% savings (10% SPC&U membership concession, 5% UOB concession, and 5% additional concession).

    Joining Benefits

    When you apply for Delight Credit Card online, you will get cash credit up to S$80. Here’s how it works:

    • You need to apply for the Delight Card online.
    • This offer is valid from 1 January 2018 to 28 February 2018, and for the initial 400 applicants only. Your application must be approved within this period.
    • Transactions of at least S$600 need to charge to the card within 30 days of approval.
    • Existing UOB principal cardholders cannot enjoy this cash credit.

    Rewards Programme

    The Delight Credit Card offers cash rebates in various categories as given below:

    • Enjoy 8% rebate at merchants such as Giant, Market Place, Guardian, Cold Storage, and Jasons, by spending a minimum of S$800 on overall card transactions in a calendar month. The rebate is in the form of SMART$ where 1 SMART$ is equivalent to S$1. If you spend S$400 to less than S$800, you will get 3% cash rebate. On spending less than S$400 you will get a rebate of 0.3%.
    • You can get 10% rebate on house brands at Giant, Guardian, and Cold Storage. This discount is not applicable to online purchases and products on sale.
    • If you spend a minimum of S$400 on the card in a month, you can get 3% SMART$ rebate on all your contactless transactions such as Apple Pay, Mighty Pay, and Visa payWave. You can also get this 3% rebate on NETS FlashPay auto top-ups for SMRT taxis, MRT/LRT, Comfort & CityCab, public bus, CEPAS car parking, etc.
    • You can enjoy 0.3% SMART$ rebate for other transactions.
    • Get 10% SMART$ rebate under the UOB SMART$ Rebate Programme at more than 400 merchants across Singapore in categories such as dining, insurance, grocery shopping, leisure and travel, petrol, shopping and health and wellness.     Instalment Payment Plans

    You can shrink your bills by using UOB SmartPay for your big purchases such as a holiday package, insurance premiums, luxury shopping, etc. The features are:

    • It has a low processing fee.
    • Your monthly instalments are interest-free.
    • The repayment tenure is flexible – you can opt for 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months.
    • You can apply through your personal banking, via SMS or online form. SMS application will only be processed after a call confirmation (UOB will call the applicant for confirmation).

    UOB Delight Credit Card Activation for Overseas Use

    You must make your UOB Delight Card transaction-ready for security purposes before using it. The following are the ways to activate your card:

    • Visit UOB Bank’s official website for activation.
    • Call the automated hotline number 1800 386 8188 that is available 24-hours.
    • Activate your card by using mobile app – UOB Mighty App on your smartphone.
    • Log in to your UOB Personal Banking for activation.
    • Send an SMS from your registered mobile number.
    • Visit your nearest UOB branch.
    • You can also activate your card at any UOB ATM.

    In order to comply with the standard security measures, the magnetic stripe on your UOB credit card is disabled for overseas usage. When you want to use the card overseas, you must enable the stripe first. Use one of the following options for that:

    • Visit UOB Bank’s official website where you can find a tab ‘Overseas Card Use’, click on that to complete your activation.
    • Visit your nearest UOB branch.
    • There is an activation form available on the UOB’s official website. You can download, fill it, and mail it to UOB.

    Foreign Currency Transactions

    All the transactions carried on your UOB credit card in foreign currencies will attract administrative fees and currency conversion fees. For the UOB Delight Credit Card, the administrative fee is 2.8%. The administrative fee also includes 1% currency conversion charges. The foreign currency fee is levied on the amount converted into Singapore dollars and not on the transaction amount in another currency.

    Cash Withdrawals/Cash Advance

    All cash withdrawals carry a cash advance charge of 6% of the transaction amount subject to a minimum fee of S$15. There is also an interest of 28% p.a. on the outstanding cash advance amount. This is calculated on daily basis from the date the money is withdrawn, until the date when outstanding amount is paid completely.

    When you withdraw money at UOB regional ATMs located overseas, you are not liable to pay any service fee to the bank. For this service fee waiver, the regions included are Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

    How to Apply for UOB Delight Card

    Apply for a UOB Delight Card by visiting UOB’s official website and filling the online application form. You have to upload all the supporting documents required. After you successfully complete your application, a bank representative will get in touch with you for further details. The bank will then verify your credit history/score and supporting documents and then approve your card.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Below are the required eligibility criteria for UOB Delight Credit Card:

    • Your minimum age needed to get this card is 21 years.
    • Singaporeans and Permanent Residents must have a minimum income of S$30,000 p.a.
    • Foreigners must have a minimum income of S$40,000 p.a.

    Documents Required

    Salaried individuals:

    • NRIC, latest payslips (computerised) and CPF statement or IRAS Tax Bill
    • Latest proof of home address (utility bill, telephone, etc. of the last 6 months)

    Self-employed individuals and commission based employees:

    • NRIC copy (front & back)
    • Latest proof of home address (utility bill, telephone, etc. of the last 6 months)
    • IRAS Tax Bill (latest)


    • A valid passport which has a minimum of 6 months validity
    • Employment Pass or S Pass which has a minimum of 6 months validity
    • Latest proof of home address (utility bill, telephone, etc. of the last 6 months)
    • Income proof documents such as IRAS Tax Bill (latest) or latest computerised payslips or a letter from company certifying your employment and salary (within 3 months).

    Interest Rates

    The interest rate for this card is 25.9% per year. There is a grace period of 21 days from the date the statement is generated. The interest is compounded on a daily basis, and will apply on all pending balance on the card after the interest-free period is over.

    If you pay the bill in total, then there won’t be any interest on your transactions. If you cannot pay the full amount of your bill, pay the minimum amount specified (which is 3% of your outstanding balance) before the specified due date. You will be liable to pay the late payment charges of S$90 and interest on the unpaid amount.


    You are supposed to pay a minimum amount of your credit card bill statement. The minimum amount is 3% of outstanding credit card bill or S$50, whichever is higher, plus the amount that is used beyond credit limit. The payment methods are:

    • You can pay your credit card bill with UOB savings/current account. Or, you can use OCBC/POSB/DBS debit card at any UOB ATM centres across Singapore.
    • The bill amount can be automatically debited from your specified account if you set up InterBank GIRO transfer.
    • You can use your internet banking facility for bill payment.
    • Payment can be done through machines such as Singapore Post Self-Service Automated Machine, NETS machine, AXS machine or iNETS Kiosk.
    • You can visit UOB Bank for cash payment.
    • Payment can be done by cheque. Cheque must be crossed and indicated as payable to ‘UOB Card Centre’. Do not forget to write your card number and the amount to be paid behind the crossed cheque. You can drop it in UOB Quick Cheque Deposit box or mail it to ‘UOB Cards and Payments, P.O. Box 1688, Robinson Road, Singapore 903338’.

    What Should You Do If Your UOB Delight Card is Lost/Stolen?

    If your UOB card is lost or stolen, your liability for the unauthorised transactions that incurred before you report the incident to the bank is capped at S$100 subject to the following conditions:

    • You have not acted fraudulently.
    • You were not negligent about your UOB credit card.
    • You have promptly notified the bank.

    However, the bank will review your report on lost/stolen card before waiving the S$100 liability. This is possible in case if the bank finds that you were a victim of crime.

    To report the loss or theft, call the hotline number 1800 222 2121. The bank will ensure that your card is blocked to avoid fraudulent transactions on it.

    UOB Credit Card Protection Schemes

    CreditSure Plus is one of the card protection schemes provided by UOB Bank wherein you can protect your family from financial ambiguity. Listed below are the features and benefits of CreditSure Plus:

    • In the event of accidental death, get up to S$200,000 or 2.4 times your credit limit.
    • In the event of permanent disability, terminal illness or death, get up to S$100,000 or 1.2 times your credit limit.
    • In the event of temporary or total disability, you can get CreditSure Plus premium waiver for up to 6 months and monthly loan instalments.
