If you lose your card or if it is stolen or if the PIN has been divulged to a third person, you must inform the bank immediately by calling the hotline. You are liable to pay for all fraudulent transactions made before notifying the bank about its theft, loss or disclosure. Otherwise, the liability is limited to S$100 as per ABS guidelines.
You will not be held liable for the fraud that occurred on your card if you have been prompt in informing the bank and help the bank retrieve the card by informing them on time, filing a police report, and following it up. However, if the bank finds you complicit in fraudulent use of the card or negligent in managing the card, you may have to pay for all the unauthorised transactions as well.
