    Activating the card for overseas expenses

    • You must make your card’s magnetic stripes ready for transactions before using it overseas. The card you receive is inactive for overseas use to prevent misuse. You might need to activate the magnetic stripe for use in the countries where EMV chips are not available.
    • For this, you could do any of the following:
      • Call the bank’s hotline.
      • Log on to internet banking of Maybank and follow the instructions on the page. You can choose the duration of activation.
      • Log on to the website of the bank and download the e-services form, fill it and mail it to the bank or visit any Maybank branch.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    There are 3 instalment payment available with Maybank credit cards. They are:

    1. Maybank 0% IPP: Spend at least S$500 at any of the 1,500 selected outlets and split your bill into repayment periods of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years or 3 years. There is no interest charged as long as you are paying the instalments on time in full every month. You can apply for this scheme with the merchant at the time of purchase itself.
    2. Posh Ezypay: Purchases of S$500 to S$5,000 at 40 participating luxury boutiques including Bvlgari, Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Burberry, Celine, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Prada and others. The repayment can be made over 3 months or 6 months. An administrative fee of S$30 is applicable, and there is no interest. To apply for this scheme, fill up the Posh EzyPay application form and fax it to the bank.
    3. Maybank FlexiPay: This facility can be used even at outlets where credit cards are not accepted. The minimum transaction amount is S$300. The tenures available are 6 months, 1 year and 2 years, with a processing fee of 3%, 5% and 6% respectively. An effective interest rate of 5.98% to 10.43% p.a. will be levied. To apply for this scheme, fill up the FlexiPay application form and fax it to the bank.

    Cash Withdrawal on the Credit Card

    • In Singapore the limit for cash withdrawal through ATMs is S$500 or equivalent. You will receive a notification about the total amount withdrawn in a particular day.
    • You can withdraw up to S$3,000 or its equivalent in a single day when overseas. You could use SpeedLink if you wish to increase the withdrawal limit.

    Lost/Stolen cards

    In case of loss/theft/fraudulent use of the card, you must inform Maybank immediately. You will not be liable for misuse of the card if you inform at the earliest. Do file a police report and submit it to the bank along with any other document or assistance the bank may require from you.

    If it is found by the bank that the loss/theft/fraudulent use of the card was due to your negligence, you may be held responsible for making payments on whatever usage is done on the card. Otherwise the limit of your liability is S$100.
