    Redeem Earned Reward Points

Visit the webpage rewards.dbs.com to redeem your Rewards Points and check the various rewards offered. The options available to you are:

    • Cash Vouchers: The points can be converted to cash vouchers through the DBS rewards redemption page. The vouchers, in turn, can be redeemed for an array of discounts across participating merchants in the country.
    • Instant Redemption: Using the points, you could instantly offset e-commerce transactions at websites of participating merchants, or their mobile apps.
    • Frequent Flyer Miles: DBS Rewards Points can be converted into air miles either through iBanking or by downloading, filling, and submitting the redemption forms for your preferred frequent flyer programme. You’ll have to pay an administrative fee of S$26.75 for each redemption you make – irrespective of how many miles you convert. The three frequent flyer programmes available with DBS are:
      • KrisFlyer miles: You can convert in segments of 5,000 points, equivalent to 10,000 Krisflyer miles. 1 DBS Rewards Point = 2 KrisFlyer miles.
      • Asia Miles: Similar to Krisflyer miles, Asia Miles also has a conversion rate of 1 DBS Rewards Point = 2 Asia Miles. Redemptions can only be done in blocks of 5,000 points.
      • AirAsia BIG Points: The minimum conversion amount is 500 DBS Rewards Points at a rate of 1 point = 3 BIG Points. The administrative fee on BIG Points conversion has been waived until 31 December 2018.

Activating the Card for Overseas Use

It is mandatory that you activate the magnetic stripe on your credit card before using it overseas. This is because some countries outside Singapore still use the magnetic stripe, while in Singapore we’ve moved on to the more secure EMV Chip technology. It’s easier for data to be stolen from magnetic stripes, which is why card issuers keep it in a deactivated state.

To activate the magnetic stripe, you can use any of the following means:

    • SMS Banking
    • DBS/POSB ATMs
    • Digibank
    • iBanking
    • Phone Banking

You can either activate with a fixed end date, or without specifying an end date. You should also deactivate it once you return to Singapore, to protect your card account details.

    Instalment Payment Plans

There are two instalment payment plans available on this card – 0% Instalment Payment Plan (IPP) and My Preferred Payment Plan (MP3).

    0% IPP

This plan allows you to split your payments over tenures of three months, six months, 1 year, 18 months, and 2 years. You can directly ask for the 0% instalment payment plan at participating merchant outlets. The partnered online and offline stores include Autobann Motors, True Yoga, NUSS, EpiCentre, Club 21, IKEA, NTUC and MSIG Insurance, Chan Brothers Travel, and several jewellery and fashion outlets as well. The transaction amount needs to be S$500 or more to use this facility. If you wish to cancel this plan or close it sooner than the chosen tenure, you will need to pay an admin fee of S$150.

    My Preferred Payment Plan

This plan is very similar to the 0% IPP, except that you can convert payments to any merchant – not just the participating ones – under MP3. A maximum of 10 transactions can be converted with this plan at once.

The effective interest rates and the processing fee for each tenure is given in the table below:

Tenure chosen Processing fee (% of the transaction amount) Effective rate of interest (EIR)
    3 months 3% 18.18% p.a.
    6 months 3% 10.43% p.a.
    1 year 5% 9.50% p.a.
    18 months 6% 7.86% p.a.
    2 years 6% 5.98% p.a.

    Cash Withdrawn on Credit Card

The amount that can be withdrawn will be determined based on the credit limit available on your card. You can withdraw money through internet banking, via DBS or POSB ATMs, from a bank branch, or through phone banking.

The card allows you to get a maximum of S$3,000 each day from DBS/POSB ATMs. There is no limit on how much you can withdraw via any other channel.

Check Eligibility to Apply for this Card

If you want to know whether you can match this card’s eligibility requirements, go to this page.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

You might encounter a situation where your credit card is lost, stolen, or you notice an unauthorised use on your card. In such cases, the maximum liability will be restricted to S$100, if the usage was not in your control or you knew nothing about it. However, this minimal liability will only be applicable if you intimate the bank as soon as you discover that the card is lost or stolen. Besides, you must ensure that you had no role to play in the loss or theft of the card, and you didn’t act fraudulently.

In case of theft, the bank might need you to submit a police report and other supporting documents. You can get in touch with the bank to report theft or loss of your card by calling their credit card hotline. You can also write to the bank intimating them about the loss or theft.

Wading through numerous bank webpages is a lengthy process and may not help select the right card for you. However, if you visit Bankbazaar, you will get all the important details on the same page.
