    Transactions in foreign currencies

    • Foreign currency transactions made in US Dollars (USD) will be converted into Singapore Dollars (SGD). All foreign currency transactions other than USD will first be converted into USD and then into SGD.
    • The conversion will depend on the government mandated rate or wholesale interbank rates as determined by the card association.
    • All foreign charges that are converted by Visa are subject to a 1% conversion factor on the converted amount.
    • The administrative fee charged on all foreign currency transactions by DBS is 1.5% of the transaction amount.
    • For foreign currency transactions converted into SGD through DCC or Dynamic Currency Conversion, an administrative fee of 1% of the converted amount will be applicable.
    • For all SGD transactions processed overseas, an administrative fee of 1% will be applicable.

    How to apply for the DBS NUSS Visa Card

    As the DBS NUSS Visa Card is a membership card as well as a credit card, you can apply for this card in the following way:

    • Visit the NUSS Guild House and sign up to be a member.
    • Complete the application form available online on the DBS NUS Alumni and DBS NUSS Cards webpage of the official DBS Singapore website.
    • Download the form, take a print out and fill in the required information.
    • Attach the required documents and either mail or fax the completed application form to DBS Bank.

    You can also get a copy of the application form at any of the NUSS Guild Houses.

    Eligibility Criteria for the DBS NUSS Visa Card

    • Minimum age: 21 years.
    • Minimum income:
      • Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents between the ages of 21 and 55 years: S$30,000 p.a.
      • Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents who are 56 years old and above: S$15,000 p.a.
      • Foreigners: S$45,000 p.a.

    Documents Required

    • Salaried Employees:
      • Front and back copy of NRIC AND
      • CPF Contribution History for the past 12 months AND
      • Most recent Income NOA (Notice of Assessment) OR
      • Most recent computerized payslip.
    • Commission based employees/Variable income employees:
      • Front and back copy of NRIC AND
      • CPF Contribution History for the past 12 months OR
      • Last 2 years Income NOA (Notice of Assessment).
    • Self-employed:
      • Front and back copy of NRIC AND
      • Last 2 years Income NOA (Notice of Assessment).
    • Foreigners who have been employed for less than 3 months:
      • Valid Passport having minimum validity of 6 months AND
      • Employment Pass having minimum validity of 6 months AND
      • Most recent computerized payslip OR Salary credited into DBS or POSB Bank Account Number (in SGD currency) + Most recent Income NOA (Notice of Assessment), if applicable OR
      • A letter from your company stating your employment + salary in SGD currency (the letter should be dated within 3 months of your application).
    • Foreigners who have been employed for 3 months and above:
      • Valid Passport having minimum validity of 6 months AND
      • Employment Pass having minimum validity of 6 months AND
      • Most recent computerized payslip OR Salary credited into DBS or POSB Bank Account Number (in SGD currency) + Most recent Income NOA (Notice of Assessment), if applicable.
    • Supplementary credit card applicants who are 18 years or below:
      • Front and back of NRIC/Passport AND
      • An Acceptance Letter from an overseas institution certifying your study abroad OR
      • A letter confirming travel duration for at least 1 month.
    • Supplementary credit card applicants who are above 18 years:
      • Front and back of NRIC/Passport.

    Interest on the DBS NUSS Visa Card

    The interest charged on the DBS NUSS Visa Card is 25.90% p.a. If you do not make the full payment on your closing balance by your payment due date, the interest will compound. The interest on your transactions will be calculated on a daily basis from your transaction date and until you make the payment in full. The minimum charge is S$2.50. If you pay your outstanding balance in full by your payment due date, then no interest will be charged on your transactions.

    Repayments

    The minimum repayment amount for the DBS NUSS Visa Card is S$50 or 3% of your outstanding balance + any amount exceeding your credit limit. If the minimum payment is not made by the payment due date, 3% additional interest rate will be will applicable over and above your prevailing interest rate of 25.90% p.a. This interest adjustment will be applicable from your next credit card account statement. Your interest rate will be reinstated to 25.90% p.a. on the first business day of your next statement cycle after you have paid the minimum payment by your payment due date.

    Lost/stolen card liability

    If your DBS NUSS Visa Card is lost, stolen or the PIN has been disclosed to a third party, you must immediately notify DBS Bank regarding the same. The maximum liability for any unauthorized transactions on your credit card will be S$100 provided you notify the bank. You will not be liable to pay for any unauthorized transactions on your card after you have notified the bank regarding the loss, theft or disclosure.

    Reporting lost/stolen credit cards

    Your maximum liability on any and all unauthorized transactions made on your credit card will be S$100 only if you report the following to the bank:

    • You must immediately notify the bank regarding the incident of loss/theft/disclosure.
    • You must assist the bank in recovering any unauthorized charges made on your card.
    • You must provide the bank with a police report and a written confirmation of the loss/theft/disclosure + any other information requested by the bank.

    DBS Bank must be satisfied that the loss/theft/disclosure has not been a direct result of your negligence or intent to default.
