Yes, you need to activate your credit card when you travel overseas. If you select the card activation feature on your credit card application form, then you will get your new card with the activation. The card remains deactivated for your safety. It prevents the card from being used for any unauthorised transactions. The bank will only disable your credit card for ATM withdrawals and POS magnetic stripe transactions.

Split your big-ticket purchases into affordable and flexible instalments at 0% interest. This plan is accepted at over 1,000 participating merchant outlets. You can spread your payments over 24 months without any processing fee or additional charges.
All you have to do is ask for this plan at the outlet and charge the transaction to your credit card. Please know that you will not earn any reward points or rebates when you pay through the Equal Payment Plan.
Spend a minimum of S$500 or more at a participating merchant outlet and pay the entire amount in instalments with Paywise. This plan offers 0% interest on your instalments and you can repay the amount over a tenure of 6 months. However, you have to pay an upfront service fee of 5% and the plan has an EIR of 25.18% p.a.
If you need urgent cash but do not have enough time to take a personal line of credit or a personal loan, you can withdraw cash from your credit card. The amount of cash you are allowed to withdraw depends on your approved credit limit. The bank charges an interest rate of 26.9% p.a., applicable the moment you withdraw the money. In addition, you will also have to pay an advance fee of S$15 or 6% of the withdrawn amount, whichever is more.
You can withdraw up to 100% of your credit limit using your Citi PremierMiles Visa Card from more than 500,000 Visa Plus ATMs across the world. Cash advance should be your last resort except in an emergency situation.
Apart from the usual eligibility criteria the Citi PremierMiles Visa Card requires a minimum annual of S$30,000 for Singaporeans and S$42,000 for permanent residents and foreigners.
