    How to claim your Standard Chartered (Enhanced Travel Protector) Travel Insurance

    Enhanced Travel Protector has been underwritten by MSIG and claims must be filed in the following way:

    • Claims must be filed within a period of 30 days from the occurrence of an event/incident leading to the claim.
    • You can either download the “Travel Insurance Claim Form” from MSIG’s website or ask the insurer to send it over to you for completion.
    • You must send the claim form along with all supporting documents to the respective department as soon as possible for it to be valid.
    • You must contact Standard Chartered Bank immediately after the incident occurs and inform the representative regarding the illness or injury sustained or regarding the loss or damage for which you are filing a claim. You must not admit/deny liability or attempt to negotiate a claim without a written permission from the bank.
    • If you receive a summons, writ or prosecution against you, you must send it along with all other claim documents immediately to Standard Chartered Bank.
    • All evidence for your claim should be sent to the bank at your expense. However, if the claim is pertaining to a bodily illness or injury, the bank will pay for your medical examination. The bank will also pay for a post mortem examination in case of your death.
    • If Standard Chartered determines a claim to be dishonest, fraudulent or intentionally exaggerated, the bank will reject your claim and your policy and all its covers will be immediately ceased.

    • An adult is an individual who is 18 years of age and above when the trip commences.
    • A child is an individual who is 1 month old and up to 18 years of age or up to 23 years of age if he/she is a full-time student at a recognized institution of higher learning when the trip commences.
    • Family plans include the insured person, their spouse and their legal children.
    • Individuals who are 70 years of age and above are only eligible to apply for single trip plans. They will not be eligible to apply for annual plans.
    • In case of a family cover taken for an annual plan, the insured persons need not travel together on a trip. However, a child below 12 years of age should at all times be accompanied by an adult on the trip.
    • A maximum of 7 persons are eligible for cover under a family plan.

    1. How long are the single and annual trip policies valid for?

      A single trip cover is valid for up to 182 days. Only a single trip will be covered under this policy. For an annual trip, you can undertake unlimited number of trips within a period of 12 months.

    2. I am a foreigner. Am I eligible to apply for Standard Chartered Travel Insurance?

      Yes. Foreigners who are residing in Singapore and hold a valid work permit/employment pass/S Pass are eligible to apply for a Standard Chartered Travel Insurance policy.

    3. What is the minimum time frame to file for a baggage delay claim?

      You will receive a baggage delay compensation of S$200 for every 6 continuous hours of delay up to the maximum limit offered under your chosen plan.
