    Features and benefits of the Standard Chartered Shopping Credit Cards

    Standard Chartered Manhattan Card:

    • The card earns a flat rate of cashback on all expenses charged to it. The rate of cashback earned depends on the monthly spend charged to the card.
    • The card earns 0.5% cashback for monthly spend below S$1,000. The card earns 1% cashback for monthly spend between S$1,000 to S$2,999.99. The card earns 3% cashback for monthly spend above S$3,000.
    • The maximum cashback that can be earned is capped at S$200 per month.

    Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Credit Card:

    • The card earns a flat rate of cashback on all expenses incurred across different categories. The card earns 1.5% cashback on all expenses charged to it and does not require a minimum spend or put a cap on how much you can earn.
    • The card also doubles as an EZ-Link card.

    Standard Chartered SingPost Platinum Card:

    • The card gives a cashback of up to 7% on all eligible online expenses including online shopping. The card requires a minimum spend of S$600 per month and the cashback earned is capped at S$60 per month.

    Interest Rates on Standard Chartered Shopping Credit Cards

    The Standard Chartered shopping credit cards charge an interest rate of 25.9% p.a. which is applicable only when the outstanding payments have not been paid in full. The card requires a minimum payment of 1% of the outstanding balance plus any amount exceeding the credit limit (if applicable) or S$50, whichever is higher. If you miss more than one minimum payment then the interest charged will be 28% p.a. The prevailing rate of interest is reinstated when you have cleared all outstanding minimum payments.

    Standard Chartered credit cards also provide an interest-free period of 22 days which is applicable only when you pay your outstanding dues in full and do not carry forward any balance onto the next statement.

    Eligibility Criteria for Standard Chartered Shopping Credit Card

    • Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents, and foreigners can apply for the Standard Chartered shopping credit cards.
    • The applicant must have attained a minimum age of 21 years to apply for the principal card and 18 years to apply for the supplementary card.
    • The minimum annual income required to apply for the Standard Chartered credit cards are S$30,000 for Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents and S$60,000 for foreign applicants.

    Documents Required for Standard Chartered Shopping Credit Card

    Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

    • A front and back copy of their NRIC or Passport for Identity proof. Foreign applicants will have to submit a copy of their valid Passport and Employment Pass and a utility bill for address proof.
    • Salaried applicants are required to submit a copy of their latest computerised payslips, latest Income Tax Notice of Assessment or latest CPF Contribution History statement dating back 6 months, bank statements, etc.
    • Self-employed applicants are required to submit a copy of their latest Income Tax Notice of Assessment and must have been in business for at least 2 years.
    • Commission based employees must submit either 3 months payslips with the latest Income Tax NOA, their latest CPF Contribution Statement dating back 6 months, or latest 3 months payslip.
    • Supplementary credit card applicants are required to provide a front and back copy of their NRIC, or a copy of their valid Passport.

    You can apply for the Standard Chartered shopping credit cards by following the simple steps given below:

    You can visit Standard Chartered’s official website for Singapore and navigate to the desired credit card’s webpage. Here you will find the “Apply Now” option. You can also visit your nearest Standard Chartered branch and apply for the desired card. Supplementary credit card applicants can find a separate Supplementary Credit Card application form on the website which they need to fill in and submit along with the required supporting documents.

    How to cancel Standard Chartered Shopping Credit Card

    You can cancel your Standard Chartered credit card by writing to the bank with your credit card number and reason for cancellation. Once the card has been confirmed as cancelled, you are advised to cut up the credit card into smaller pieces. Cancelling the principal credit card will automatically render the supplementary cards as cancelled.
