Singapore: Access to e-government services were disrupted with several SingPass and CorpPass users unable to log into their accounts on 8 February. Users stated that for nearly an hour, they were either unable to log in or faced slow log-in speeds. The problem wasn’t solved even at 12:30 p.m.
The SingPass system, set up in 2006, has around 3.3 million registered users. It supports 57 million e-commerce transactions, with access to Central Provident Fund accounts being one among them. In 2016, the government rolled out a similar system called CorpPass for businesses to make transactions online.
The last time a similar disruption in services was observed was a week ago on 2 February, when the critical cashless services provided by Nets was affected for nearly two hours.
