• How to Change SingPass ID and Password Online

    SingPass or Singapore Personal Access and was a service launched to simplify transactions with government agencies allowing users to carry out digital transactions with over 60 government agencies using only one ID and password.

    As such keeping note of your SingPass ID and password is a must. In case you have forgotten your login ID or password or wish to change it, you can follow the below steps.

    Changing SingPass Password Online

    • If you wish to change your SingPass password, you can click on the ‘Change My Password’ link available on the SingPass website. A one-time password or OTP will be sent either to your registered mobile number or your registered email address for verification. Keep in mind that the OTP has a validity period of only 2 minutes and failure to authenticate the OTP within this time frame will require you to restart the entire process.
    • When the OTP has been successfully authenticated, you will receive a prompt to enter in your new password.
    • You can also immediately reset your SingPass password online if you have the 2FA service set up. 2FA stands for 2 step verification. If you have 2FA set up, you can simply visit www.singpass.gov.sg, go to the services tab on the homepage and click on ‘Reset Password’. You then need to enter your NRIC or FIN details and the OTP that would be sent to you and enter your new password.
    • Do note that when you create a new password, the password should be at least 8 to 24 characters long, contain a capital letter, a number, and a special character. New passwords cannot be the same as your previous 5 passwords and should not contain any variation of the word ‘password’ nor should it be the same as your login ID.

    Changing SingPass Login ID Online

    If you have forgotten your SingPass ID, you can click on the ‘Retrieve SingPass ID’ option available on the SingPass website. You will then be asked to enter personal information, and upon successful verification, the SingPass ID will either be sent to your registered mobile number or to your email ID. You can also visit any SingPass counter with your required documents for verification and request for retrieval of your login ID.
