    Interest Rates on HSBC Travel Credit Cards

    The Effective Interest Rate (EIR) charged on HSBC travel credit cards is 25.9% p.a. with a minimum charge of S$2.50. However, this interest rate is only applicable when you do not pay your outstanding balances in full by your payment due date and instead make minimum or partial payments. No finance charges will be levied if you pay your outstanding balances in full.

    Interest-free period: The interest-free period on HSBC travel credit cards is 20 days from your statement date and is only applicable if you make full payments on your outstanding balances and your EIR is 0%.

    Eligibility Criteria for HSBC Travel Credit Cards

    • Nationality criterion - Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents and foreigners can apply for HSBC travel credit cards.
    • Age criteria:
      • Minimum age for principal card applicants - 21 years.
      • Minimum age for supplementary card applicants - 18 years.
    • Minimum income criteria:
      • HSBC Visa Infinite Credit Card - S$120,000 p.a. or a fixed deposit collateral of S$30,000 to be maintained with HSBC until account closure.
      • HSBC Premier MasterCard Credit Card - S$30,000 p.a. for Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents and S$40,000 p.a. for foreigners and self-employed applicants. If you don’t meet the income criteria, you can apply for a secured credit card by maintaining a fixed deposit collateral with HSBC for at least S$10,000 until account closure.
    • Additional requirement for HSBC Premier MasterCard Credit Card - This credit card is only offered to HSBC Premier Customers who have an HSBC Premier Relationship worth at least S$200,000 in investments/insurance with the bank.

    Documents Required for HSBC Travel Credit Cards

    • Salaried employees must submit:
      • A front and back photocopy of your NRIC.
      • Your eCPF statement contribution to be submitted online via www.hsbc.com.sg/ecpf using SingPass login.
      • Computerised payslips for the past 3 months OR your most recent Income Tax NOA (Notice of Assessment) + most recent computerised payslip.
    • Self-employed and commission based employees must submit:
      • A front and back photocopy of your NRIC.
      • Income Tax NOA (Notice of Assessment) for the past 2 years’.
    • Foreigners must additionally submit:
      • A copy of your Passport.
      • A front and back copy of your Employment Pass with a validity period of at least 6 months.
      • Computerised payslips for the past 3 months OR your most recent Income Tax NOA (Notice of Assessment).

    How to Cancel an HSBC Travel Credit Card

    If you wish to cancel your HSBC credit card, you must cut the card in half, crosswise and return the same to the bank. You can contact the bank regarding the cancellation of your card in the following ways:
