Types of Home Insurance Policies Offered by HL Assurance

There are three plans offered under the Home Protect360, called the Platinum, Gold and Silver plans. As the names suggest, the highest premium and the highest coverage is for the Platinum plan, the next best for the Gold scheme, and the least for the Silver plan.   • Loss/damage for homes that are unoccupied for more than a month.
  • Loss/damage arising from deterioration or infestation and even domestic pets.
  • Loss/damage due to breakage of sports equipment, mechanical and electrical materials in the house.
  • Financial loss arising from the loss of your credit/debit/charge cards and somebody else using it.
  • Replacement of locks and keys due to wear and tear by constant use by you or your help.
  • Any loss/damage cause deliberately by you.

How to Make a Claim

  • Firstly, report to the police about the loss/damage if the cause was out of your control, such as theft, vandalism, fire, or malicious damage.
  • Try to reduce further damage and take photographs of the items that are damaged.
  • Cooperate with the insurance agent who will arrive to analyse the kind of loss.
  • Finally, you can download the claim form from the site, fill it and submit it with the necessary documents to HL Assurance by fax on 62241923 or email on [email protected] or post to their address.

The documents required for making a claim, as applicable, are as follows:

  • Claim form
  • CCTV footage showing how the incident occured/photographs of the items that are damaged
  • Copy of the proof of purchase of the damaged/lost items
  • Quotations from the repairer for the repair/replacements of the damaged items as well as a report detailing the cause and extent of damage
  • Report from the police

Home Protect360 Insurance Renewal

There would be an automatic renewal of the policy on the expiry date in the case that you have paid all premiums and not requested them to terminate the policy.

How to Cancel Home Protect360 Policy

You can cancel the policy any time by writing to the insurer about it, if you have made no claim till then. After they receive your notice, your policy will stand cancelled from the first of the next month.

Q. If the house was damaged due to fire, can I claim for removal of debris?

A. Yes, you may claim for the removal of debris, demolishing or any other act to normalise the property up to the set limit.

Q. If the refurbishment at my home is going to take 8 months, will I get coverage?

A. Any kind of refurbishment at your home that lasts longer than 6 months will not be covered.

Q. Will I be paid for the deterioration of food in my freezer?

A. You will be paid up to S$1,000 to replace the deteriorating food in the freezer only if the damage is caused by the refrigerator. In cases where the electricity supply was withheld or you did not use the food and it started deteriorating, you will not be paid any money.
