DBS Prime Protect Insurance

DBS Prime Protect is a personal accident plan that provides you with comprehensive coverage during the prime years of your life. Chubb Insurance Singapore Limited does the underwriting for this policy. This policy will cover you for bodily injuries suffered due to an accident or unforeseen event.

Features & benefits of DBS personal accident plan

This policy entitles you to several benefits such as:

  • You will be reimbursed for medical expenses caused by an accident. These expenses include traditional treatments involving Chinese medicine.
  • You will receive a lump sum amount when you suffer burns, fracture, or dislocation because of an unexpected injury.
  • In case you are hospitalised post your accidental injury, you will be eligible to claim your hospital cash benefit on a daily basis for up to 60 days.
  • In case you are not able to execute at least 3 of your daily living activities after your unforeseen injury, you will receive a lump sum payout for a long term.
  • 15% of the premium amount you’ve paid (no GST included) will be refunded to you towards the end of every 12 continuous months if there are no claims from your side.

No claim bonus 15% of the premium amount paid (GST will be excluded) for the previous 12 months will be refunded in case you have not made any insurance claim.

How can you apply for DBS Prime Protect?

You can visit the nearest DBS Bank branch in order to apply for this policy.

Who is eligible for this plan?

A Singapore resident whose age is between 40 and 70 years (inclusive of both ages) will qualify for this policy. This plan can be renewed up to 80 years of age (inclusive of 80 years).

Here Singapore Resident refers to:

  • Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Singapore citizen
  • A person who is holding a valid employment pass, work permit, dependent’s pass, S Pass, or a long-term visit pass which has been issued by the Singaporean authorities.

Q. Under what circumstances would my policy get cancelled?

A. Your plan will be terminated in the following situations:

  • When you are not a Singapore resident anymore.
  • When you cross 80 years of age.
  • When accidental death benefit payout is made.
  • When you receive 100% amount with respect to your accidental permanent disability benefit.
  • In the event of your death.

Q. Can I cancel my plan?

A. Yes, you can terminate the plan by providing Chubb with a 1-month advance notice. For assistance regarding policy cancellation, you can call the Chubb’s customer care number.

Q. In what kind of situations will I not be eligible for insurance benefits?

A. A few of the key exclusions include:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions
  • If you suffered a bodily injury due to a deliberate act, self-imposed injury, criminal act, illegal activity, or suicide
  • Unlawful deeds or intentional exposure to danger (e.g.: jaywalking, speeding, etc.), excluding efforts taken in order to save someone’s life
  • If you were drunk or on drugs when the accident took place
