DBS Dining Credit Cards

DBS offers a wide variety of credit cards to Singaporeans, and rewards every kind of spending conceivable. However, DBS does not have a dedicated dining credit card in its repertoire. This does not mean that you cannot use any of the DBS credit cards for your dining purchases, nor does it mean that DBS is stingy about dining discounts. Here are the credit cards by DBS that offer dining benefits:

Documents Required For DBS Dining Credit Cards

You need to provide the following documents to get your credit card application approved by DBS:

    • Identity proof: This would be a copy of NRIC for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents, and passport and employment pass for foreigners living in Singapore.
    • Address proof: You could present utility bills showing your current address. This is required only for foreigners.
    • Income proof: Computerised payslips, latest CPF contribution history statement, latest Income Tax Notice of Assessment, and bank statements can be submitted to confirm your income and employment.

How to Apply For DBS Dining Credit Cards

DBS allows you to apply for its credit cards in these 2 ways:

    • Online: You can visit the DBS web portal and apply directly. You can fill in the application form and upload the copies of the required documents.
    • Offline: You can visit any DBS branch close to you with the documents required and fill up the application form there.

How to Cancel DBS Dining Credit Cards

You can cancel a DBS dining card by informing the bank in writing. Once a primary card is terminated, the supplementary cards will also be cancelled along with it. You also need to ensure that you are tearing up or cutting up the cancelled cards before throwing them in the bin, to prevent misuse.

If you have any products under 0% Instalment Payment Plan (IPP), you will have to pay off the remaining instalments before you can terminate the credit card. IPP termination also attracts an admin fee of S$150. You also need to clear all outstanding dues before applying to cancel your card. You should also redeem your miles or rewards or cash rebates before termination to avoid any losses.
