    • The minimum initial deposit required is S$5,000.
  • CIMB Foreign Currency Current Account:

    • You get a wide range of major currencies to choose from.
    • You can invest, pay, receive funds and trade in 5 different foreign currencies – EUR, AUD, USD, GBP and JPY.
    • Deposits can be made using cheques, Electronic Funds Transfer and demand drafts.
    • You get unlimited free cheque books for your USD account. The cheque book will be automatically delivered to you.
    • You can opt for Estatements and this will waive your monthly account fee.
    • Minimum initial deposit for JPY – 500,000, GBP-1,000, EUR- 1,000, AUD-1,000, USD- 1,000.
  • CIMB StartSaver-i Account:

    • This is a Shariah compliant checking and savings account. It uses the Wadiah Yad Dhamanah concept.
    • You can deposit the money with the bank for safe-keeping and potentially earn hibah rate of 0.8% per annum.
    • Historical hibah is accrued daily at the bank’s discretion and you will receive it at the end of the month.
    • You can top-up your account via mail-in cheque, monthly funds transfer, in-branch deposits and Interbank GIRO.
    • Your monthly account fee will be waived if you opt to receive Estatements.
    • Account can be opened online.
    • You can enjoy instant fund transfers to and from the participating banks in Singapore.
    • Overseas ATM withdrawals are free.
    • Get access to internet banking via CIMB Clicks.
    • Enjoy unlimited free cheque books.
    • When you run out of cheque books, it will be automatically delivered to you.
    • The minimum initial deposit required is S$5,000.
  • CIMB USD Interest Current Account:

    • This account is USD checking and Savings Accounts combined.
    • You can enjoy interest rate of up to 0.6% per annum on the first USD200,000 in your Current Account.
    • USD cheque books are delivered for no charges.
    • The money can be withdrawn and deposited via telegraphic transfer, cheques, and demand drafts.
    • If you opt for Estatements, the monthly account fee will be waived.
    • The minimum initial deposit required is USD1,000.

Documents required

To open a CIMB Current Account you will have to submit the following documents:

    • Singaporeans or permanent residents and Malaysians will have to submit their NRIC.
    • Foreigners will have to submit their proof of residential address, Passport, Work Permit, Employment Pass, Student Pass, and Dependant’s Pass.
