    Earning Rewards

    • Earn reward points in the form of UNI$, at the rate of UNI$1 for every S$5 spent on qualifying purchases.
    • Get rebates of up to 10% at more than 400 participating merchant outlets in the country. These rebates are credited as SMART$. Important things to know about SMART$ rebates are:
      • One SMART$ rebate is equal to S$1.
      • If the rate of rebate at an outlet is 5% and you spend S$40 there, you’ll get a rebate of S$2. This will be credited as SMART$2.

    Let Us Illustrate:

    Let’s say you have spent S$4,000 in a mont h. With every S$5 spent on retail purchases, you will earn UNI$1. Hence, you will earn UNI$800 in a month. The UNI$ can also be converted to KrisFlyer or Asia miles. Each UNI$ will give you 2 miles. So, the reward points you will earn for each category in this scenario is:

    Activating the card for overseas expenses

    Yes, the magnetic stripe on the back of your card has to be activated for overseas use. Magnetic stripes are needed in some countries outside Singapore for retail transactions.

    Follow any one of the steps mentioned below to activate your card for overseas use:

    • Visit the relevant page on the bank’s website to complete the process.
    • Call the bank’s 24x7 customer care hotline.
    • Visit a branch near you.
    • Download the activation form, fill it out, and send it to the bank via mail.

    On returning to Singapore, use any one of the steps discussed above to deactivate the magnetic stripe on your card. This is recommended for security reasons.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    • Convert your big-ticket purchases of S$500 or more into affordable monthly instalments using SmartPay, UOB’s instalment payment plan.
    • Choose from 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month tenures.
    • A low one-time processing fee will apply.
    • No UNI$ will be awarded for payments related to SmartPay.
    • The effective interest rates depend on the tenures:
    • 18.18% p.a. for a 3-month tenure.
    • 10.43% p.a. for a 6-month tenure.
    • 9.5% p.a. for a 12-month tenure.

    Cash Withdrawal on the Credit Card

    • Use your card to withdraw cash from any UOB ATMs in the country or any Cirrus/PLUS/UOB ATMs in a foreign country if you need cash on an emergency basis.
    • Transfer cash from your card to a different bank account through personal banking or withdraw from any UOB bank branch, if necessary.
    • The cash withdrawal amount is capped at 75% of the credit limit available.
    • A maximum amount of S$3,000 can be withdrawn in a day from any UOB ATM.

    Lost/Stolen cards

    In case your credit card is stolen, lost or misused, you must:

    • Notify the bank immediately either by calling the customer service helpline or by sending a letter.
    • File a police complaint, and submit it to the bank along with a letter confirming the incident.
    • A statutory form may also have to be submitted to the bank in their prescribed format.

    Liability for any unauthorised use of your card will be limited to S$100, provided:

    • You have cooperated with the bank.
    • The bank has concluded the you were the victim of this fraud and weren’t involved in it.
    • You didn’t act with gross negligence in handling the card.

    If you set up a GIRO facility linking a bank account and credit card payment, you will not have to worry about remembering due dates any more. Find the interbank GIRO form on UOB’s website (or get it from your nearest branch), complete it, and send to the bank via mail or fax.

    How Much Is the Minimum Payment to Be Made on the Card?

    The minimum payment to be made stands at 3% of the outstanding amount, and includes any overdue sum. It is however, subject to a minimum charge of S$50.

    What Is the Grace Period?

    21 days

    If your outstanding amount has been cleared in full previously, you will get a grace period of 21 days. This is calculated starting from the day the statement is generated.

    To block your UOB Professional Platinum Card, you must call the Customer Service hotline. In case you want to unblock it, you must call the same number.

    How to Reset the PIN

    Download the replacement form and send to UOB

    You have to download the Replacement of Credit/Debit Card and PIN form, available on the bank’s webpage. Fill this form completely and post it to the bank. The bank will process your request and send your new PIN directly to your mailing address.
