    Metro-UOB Card for Cash Rebate

    This is a card that is specifically designed to help you shop at Metro. The Metro-UOB Card gives you rewards of various kinds when you use it to pay for your purchases at this brand. You can get a discount of 10% on all items at Metro that have regular (non-discounted) prices. The card also gives you Metro$ Rebates of 5% for every dollar you spend here along with a discount of 20% on the month in which your birthday falls.     5% Metro$ Rebates

    The Metro-UOB Card also gives you rebates of 5% in Metro$. These Metro$ are given on the basis of the amount (nett) that you charge to your card. You will not be eligible for any Metro$ when you purchase gift vouchers, shoppers cheques, or gift cards from Metro.

    The rewards you earn under this scheme remain valid for up to one year (12 months) from the month in which you earned them. You can use the Metro$ you accumulate to get Metro Shoppers Cheques which can, in turn, be used to reduce your bills on your future purchases at this brand.

    20% Discount on Your Birthday Month

    If you have a birthday coming up, you can shop at Metro using this card and get a discount of 20% on non-discounted, blue-tag priced items, in addition to other offers.

    Redeeming your Earned Rewards

    Metro$ can be exchanged for Metro Shoppers Cheques, which can be used to offset your next purchase at participating Metro stores. These points are valid for 1 year from the date they are credited to your account.

    The UNI$ you earn can be exchanged for dining treats, movie tickets, shopping vouchers, and other rewards from the UOB Island of Rewards programme.

    Activating the card for overseas Expenses

    Yes, it is mandatory to activate all UOB credit cards for overseas use. This is to ensure that you are able to use the card’s magnetic stripe – which is generally in a deactivated state because it is not needed for transactions in Singapore – for overseas transactions. To activate, you can do either of the following:

    • Go to the card’s webpage, click on ‘Activate Now’, and follow the given steps.
    • Call the bank’s 24/7 hotline number.
    • Visit any branch near you.
    • Download the activation form and mail it to the bank.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    UOB allows you to convert your purchases from more than 4,000 participating merchant outlets into monthly instalments at 0% interest. This scheme is called UOB SmartPay. You can choose a tenure of up to 12 months to pay the instalments. However, if you convert your payments, you will not earn any UNI$ or Metro$. There will be a one-time processing fee, and the repayments will be interest-free only if you are able to make full payments every month.

    Cash Withdrawal on the Credit Card

    If you have an emergency, you can withdraw cash from any UOB ATMs in the country or any Cirrus/PLUS/UOB ATMs in a foreign country. You can also transfer cash from your card to a different bank account through personal banking or withdraw from any UOB bank branch.

    The cash advance amount is capped at 75% of your credit limit, or the available balance, whichever is less. In a day, you can withdraw not more than S$3,000 from any UOB ATM.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

    In case your credit card is stolen, lost or misused, you must immediately notify the bank either by calling on the customer service helpline number or by writing a letter to the bank. You must also file a police complaint by writing a letter confirming the theft, loss or misuse of the credit card.

    The liability amount you need to pay to the bank in case of any illegal use of your card is limited to S$100 if it is proven that the loss/theft/misuse was not due to your negligence. But if proven otherwise, you may be held liable and asked to pay whatever charges have been made to your card.

    How to Enable/Disable Auto Debit & Standing Instructions

    Submit the completed GIRO form

    To enable standing instructions for your card payment on the Metro-UOB Platinum Card, download the GIRO form and fill it up as per your requirements. You can either pay the full amount or the minimum amount required.

    For utility and other recurring bill payments, you will have to download the ‘Bill Pay Service’ form. This can be mailed to UOB by using the business reply envelope or by faxing it to UOB. To disable the auto debit facility, you will have to contact the respective merchants and make alternative payment arrangements.

    How to Apply for the Card & Check the Application Status

    Online/Internet banking/SMS/In Person

    You can apply for the card online on the bank’s website. If you are a registered UOB internet banking user, then you can use your internet banking details to apply. Alternatively, if you are an existing credit card customer, you can just SMS the bank.

    You could also go to the bank personally and enquire about the card. Application status can be found by contacting the 24x7 customer support number.

    How to Check Balance

    Online, mobile or phone banking

    Check the balance on your credit card by logging into your UOB internet banking account or mobile banking, or by using their phone banking service.

    How Can the Bill Be Paid?

    AXS/SAM/iNETS/GIRO and others

    You can pay your card bill via any of the following methods:

    • AXS stations
    • iNETS kiosks
    • Any UOB ATM
    • SAM machines
    • Interbank GIRO

    How Much Is the Minimum Payment to Be Made on the Card?

    S$50 or 3% of the current balance

    You need to pay at least 3% of your current balance or S$50, whichever is higher, each month. Along with this minimum amount, you will also have to pay any amount that may be over the credit limit.

    What Is the Grace Period?

    21 days

    For 21 days from the statement date, you will not be liable to pay any interest on your card transactions. This is subject to you paying all your previous bills fully.

    Which Mobile Wallets Can This Be Used With?

    Apple Pay/Mighty Pay/PayNow/Android Pay/Samsung Pay

    You can link your card to Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, PayNow and UOB’s wallet Mighty Pay for contactless payments.

    Can It Be Used With EZ-Link?

    Yes

    This card can be used with EZ-Link. To activate this service you will have to submit the form for the auto credit card top-up facility to UOB.

    How to Block or Unblock the Card

    Call UOB hotline

    If you think your card is missing, notify UOB immediately by calling their customer service hotline so that they can block your card. You can contact the same number for resuming services on the card if you find it.

    How to Reset the PIN

    Submit a form

    To reset the PIN on your credit card you will have to complete the form and mail it to UOB. Your new PIN will be sent to the mailing address that is registered with the bank.

    What Is the Billing Cycle and the Bill Due Date?

    Once a month

    You will receive your card statement once a month. This could be the calendar month or commencing from the date on which your card was approved.

    The due date will be shown in your statement. The minimum amount or the complete outstanding balance needs to be paid by the due date to avoid any late fees.

    How to Get a Replacement Card

    Send a form to the bank

    To get a replacement card complete and mail the form for the same to UOB. Your replacement card will be sent to you via post.

    How to Temporarily Increase the Limit of the Card

    Call the hotline number

    A temporary increase in your credit limit will only be provided for overseas travel, weddings, hospitalisation, medical, and compassionate reasons. To apply for a temporary increase in your credit limit call UOB’s 24-hour hotline.
