The first thing to do if your credit card is lost or stolen or misplaced is to call the Maybank credit card hotline and report the loss. They will block your card and no further purchases will be possible using that card. In case your credit card is lost or stolen, you are not held liable for the purchases made fraudulently by other parties. The maximum amount you are liable to pay the bank in case the card is used by someone else before you report the loss to the bank, is S$100. Even this liability can be waived off at the bank’s discretion. The key point here is that you should be able to prove to the bank that you are not acting deceitfully or trying to cheat the bank, and you should report the loss as soon as you discover it.
