    Activating the card for overseas expenses

    • Yes, the magnetic stripe on the back of your Maybank credit card has to be activated for overseas POS transactions.
    • Activate this feature using any of the following channels:
      • Maybank Singapore branches.
      • Phone banking
      • Online Banking
    • Deactivate it again on returning to Singapore for security reasons.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    • Convert high-value purchases into small, affordable instalments every month using a 0% Instalment Payment Plan offered by Maybank.
    • This plan can be used for purchases at more than 1,500 participating merchant outlets.
    • No interest will be charged if monthly instalment payments are settled in full.
    • Minimum spend of S$500 is required to make use of the instalment plan subject to the credit limit available.
    • Spread your payments over a period of 6, 12, 24 and 36 months.

    Cash Withdrawal on the Credit Card

    • Withdraw cash using your card to meet your emergency cash needs.
    • The amount that can be withdrawn will depend on the credit limit available on your card.
    • Money can be withdrawn from any Mastercard ATM anywhere in the world.
    • The daily withdrawal limit can be increased to S$10,000 if needed.
    • The daily minimum withdrawal limit stands at S$2,000.

    Lost/Stolen cards

    • Report the incident to the bank without delay.
    • File a police report and send a copy of the same to the bank.
    • Write a statutory declaration in the prescribed format confirming and detailing your loss, if asked to.
    • Cut a card up and send it to the bank if you recover it after you have reported it to be lost or stolen. Apply for a replacement card.
    • Your liability for unauthorised transactions will be limited to S$100 if:
      • You were not involved in the fraud.
      • You were not negligent in handling your card.
      • You have complied with the bank’s regulations.
      • You have pledged to help the bank track the lost card.
