    Earning Cash Rebate and Reward Points?

    You will earn both rewards points and cash rebates with this card. Interestingly, you will earn rewards points for any transaction you make, even if you have earned cash rebate on the same purchase.

    • If you spend a minimum of S$400 to S$799.99 per month (Tier 1) for all 3 months in a calendar quarter, you’ll get:
      • 5% cash rebate on recurring utility bills
      • 3% cash rebate on groceries
      • 3% cash rebate on fuel (Caltex and Shell)

    Redeeming your Earned Rewards

    You can redeem your accrued reward points for vouchers in several categories such as shopping, dining, travel, etc. Redeem them through internet banking and phone banking. The Rewards points will expire at the end of 3 years of issuance.

    You can also convert your reward points into air miles under the HSBC’s Mileage Programme. You can redeem air miles for every 5,000 Reward points for a block of 2,000 miles. The miles are usable on flights from the Singapore Airlines Group and Asia Miles partners.

    Who All Will Be Covered by the Insurance?

    The following individuals will be covered by both the scheduled flight event insurance and personal travel accident insurance:

    • If the tickets for your family members are also purchased through your HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card, they also will be insured.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    1. HSBC's Card Balance Conversion Plan

    With this plan, you’ll be able to convert your purchases into flexible monthly instalments. You can use this plan to convert different kinds of transactions like paying the down payment for your car, online shopping, air tickets, tour packages, shopping for electronic gadgets, and more.

    You can choose an instalment period of 3, 6, or 12 months. You will be charged a low one-time processing fee of 3%, 3% and 5%, respectively for each tenure. In order to apply for this plan, you should charge a minimum of S$500 per transaction. You can register for this plan in three ways:

    • Apply by calling the 24/7 HSBC hotline.
    • Send in an SMS request after which an HSBC customer service officer will get in touch with you.
    • Download the application form on the bank’s official website and upload the signed form accordingly.

    2. HSBC's Credit Card Instalment Plan

    With this plan, you can convert your big-ticket purchases into interest-free instalments. Your instalment period can either be 6, 12, 18, or 24 months. To qualify for this plan, you need to make a transaction that is worth a minimum of S$500 at any of the eligible merchant outlets.

    Cash Withdrawal on the Credit Card

    As a primary card owner, per day you can withdraw a maximum of S$6,000 per day. The total withdrawable limit depends on the card status and credit limit available.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

    If your card is lost or stolen, you must notify the HSBC bank immediately. In order to report the loss of your credit card, you can call the 24-hour HSBC hotline. You will need to file a police report and submit it to HSBC. If you comply with these conditions, you’ll liability will be restricted to S$100.

    If you fail to convince the bank authorities that your card was used for a fraudulent activity after it was stolen, or you fail to notify the bank soon after your card was lost or stolen, you will be liable for any unapproved transaction.

    How to Enable/Disable Auto Debit & Standing Instructions

    Submit the GIRO form

    For auto debits of your credit card bills, you can download, fill and submit the Interbank GIRO form. Contact HSBC directly to disable this.

    To apply for ‘Recurring Bill Payment’ facility that helps you consolidate your bill payments, do one of the following:

    • Download the application form available on the HSBC website, complete it, and mail it to HSBC Bank.

    How to Check Balance

    You can always check your credit card account balance and transaction history through Internet Banking. You must log into your credit card account and navigate to your card number below ‘Accounts - View List of Accounts screen’. A list of unbilled transactions will appear for your reference.     How Much Is the Minimum Payment to Be Made on the Card?

    S$50 or 3% of outstanding bill

    From your monthly credit card statement, you must pay a minimum of 3% of the outstanding bill amount or S$50 (whichever is higher). Any amount above the credit limit also has to repaid in the same cycle.

    What Is the Grace Period?

    You will get a grace period of 20 days from statement date if you have paid your older bills in full.

    How to Block or Unblock the Card

    Phone Banking/Customer Service Number

    In order to block your card, contact the HSBC Customer Service number, which is available for 24-hours. Contact the phone banking hotline if you have registered for the service. HSBC Platinum customers can call HSBC’s dedicated Platinum Hotline as well.

    How to Reset the PIN

    Through a form on HSBC website

    In order to reset your PIN, you must download, complete and send ‘Debit/ATM/Credit/Choice Card & PIN, Internet Banking, Phone Banking Requests’ form to HSBC via mail. You will receive your new PIN from HSBC via post. It’ll reach you in 2 weeks if you are outside Singapore and in 7 business days if you’re in the country.

    What Is the Billing Cycle and the Bill Due Date?

    Your credit card bill is generated once every month. Your payment due date will be given in the statement. If you fail to pay the bill the minimum amount, a part of the dues, or the total bill amount before the due date you will be charged a late payment fee.

    How to Get a Replacement Card

    Complete and submit a form

    To get a replacement card, complete and send the ‘Debit/ATM/Credit/Choice Card & PIN, Internet Banking, Phone Banking Requests’ form to HSBC via mail. You will receive your replacement card via post.

    How to Temporarily Increase the Limit of the Card –

    For short-term review of credit limit, call the bank’s 24-hour hotline number or log in to their internet banking. To apply for a long-term increase in the credit limit of your card, download and fill ‘Credit Limit Review Form’ and submit it to HSBC along with your income documents (latest) & Employment Pass. You will also have to send few more documents such as CPF history statements, Notice of Assessment, computerised payslips, etc. You can either upload the form and the documents on the HSBC’s website or send it via mail.

      There's no competition when it comes to cashback on recurring telco bills. With the HSBC Visa Platinum card, I get 5% off every month just by spending $400 every month. It works out for me because since my combined starhub bill is already more than $400.

      The quarterly spend requirement is ridiculous. I missed my cashback so many times just because 1 out of 3 months I didn't spend as much. Other cards are easier to use, and even give more cashback.
