    Who All Will Be Covered by the Insurance?

    Activating the Card for Overseas Expenses

    Yes, you’ll have to activate the magnetic stripe of your card if you want to use it abroad. Do the following:

    • Call the bank’s hotline.
    • Make sure you call from your registered number as a one-time password will be generated and sent to it for verification.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    • Split your large retail bills into manageable instalments.
    • This reduces your cost burden and makes it easier to pay off over a fixed tenure.
    • The interest-free durations tenures are 6, 12, 18 and 24 months.
    • Make a purchase of at least S$500 to enjoy this card instalment plan.
    • This plan can be used only at specific merchants that have partnered with the bank.
    • Pay an administrative fee of S$100 if you wish to terminate the plan or prepay.

    Cash Withdrawal on the Credit Card

    • Withdraw cash whenever you need from Visa/Plus ATMs as well as Cirrus ATMs in more than 100 countries with your HSBC card.
    • Daily cash withdrawal limit is S$6,000, subject to availability of credit limit on your card.
    • Take a loan on your credit card through the Cash Instalment Plan, if needed.
    • You can withdraw up to 90% of the card’s available credit limit at affordable interest rates with this card.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

    • Inform the bank without delay.
    • File a report with the police and present a copy of the same to HSBC.
    • Help the bank in tracking down the lost/stolen card.
    • Your liability for unauthorised transactions will be limited to S$100, provided:
      • You didn’t act fraudulently.
      • You didn’t act negligently.
      • You helped the bank in its investigation of the incident.

    In all other situations, you may be liable for all the unauthorised transactions made on your card.

    How to Enable/Disable Auto Debit & Standing Instructions

    Through GIRO application

    Apply for the GIRO arrangement if you want to enable auto debit and standing instructions for credit card bill payment. You can either opt for full payment or partial payment of bills. Write to the bank to disable this feature.

    Download, fill and submit the Recurring Bill Payment Application Form to set up auto debit facility for utility bill payments on the card. You can also call HSBC to activate this service. You can disable the standing instructions by getting in touch with the respective merchant.

    How Much Is the Minimum Payment to Be Made on the Card?

    Every month you have to pay at least 3% of the outstanding sum. If you have crossed the withdrawal limit, you have to pay that amount back on top of the 3%. This percentage is subject to a minimum fee of S$50.

    The grace period available for this card is 20 days. It’s calculated from the statement generation date, if you have completely paid your bills from previous billing cycles.

    How to Reset the PIN

    Submit form to bank

    Reset the PIN for your credit card by downloading, filling, and submitting the ATM/Debit/Credit Card & PIN, Internet Banking, Phonebanking Request Form to the bank. Send the completed form enclosed in a Business Reply Envelope. The new PIN will be mailed to you through post. This will take around 7 business days if you’re in Singapore; and two weeks if you’re abroad.

    What Is the Billing Cycle and the Bill Due Date?

    The billing cycle is calculated on a month basis, between two successive statements. It usually starts from the date you received approval on your credit card. The billing cycle and the due date for billing will be indicated in your monthly statement.
