    Let Us Illustrate:

    Assume that you have spent S$3,500 in Singapore, S$1,000 overseas and S$1,500 in Dsquared, Max Mara, Club 21 and other select luxury boutiques.

    The total miles earned would be as follows:

    3.2 x 1,500 = 4,800

    2.4 x 1,000 = 2,400

    1.2 x 3,500 = 4,200

    The total miles earned will be 11,400.

    You will get 3 DBS Points or 6 miles for every S$5 spent locally, 6 DBS Points or 12 miles spent overseas and eight DBS Points or 16 miles at select luxury boutiques. To convert your points to air miles, you will have to enrol in the Frequent Flyer Programme.

    Whenever you convert your points to the chosen airline programme, you will be liable to pay a fee of S$26.75 which you will have to pay using your DBS card. To convert BIG Points, the administrative fee will be waived until 31 December 2018.

    Once you become a member of the Frequent Flyer Programme, you will have to submit a redemption request form. You can download this form online and fill it up and submit it.

    You can also redeem the air miles through iBanking. You will have to take the following steps:

    • Once you login, you will have to select “cards” and go to ‘Redeem Rewards’.
    • When you click on “DBS Rewards Home Page”, you will be taken to the Rewards page.  
    • In the Rewards page, you will have to choose the air miles you want to redeem.
    • Once you click on the air mile item, you will see a pop-up screen. You can make changes to your Frequent Flyer details in this popup screen.
    • Once you have filled all the relevant information, click on “Add to Cart” and proceed to checkout.

    After you have redeemed your air miles successfully, your details will be captured. For all following airline redemptions, you can finish it directly through the DBS Lifestyle app or DBS Rewards website.

    Who All Will Be Covered by the Insurance?

    This complimentary travel insurance will provide coverage for the insured person in addition to his/her partner and dependent children.

    CardCare Protector

    Through CardCare Protector, you will also get a comprehensive coverage of up to S$200,000 on unsettled balances. The premium that you will have to pay is S$0.58 for every S$100 on your monthly unsettled balance. However, with this plan you will not get any cover for any pre-existing medical conditions. There is a 90-day waiting period applicable with this policy for claim of critical or early cancer benefit.

    Concierge/Butler Service

    With this card, you will get assistance with a variety of lifestyle services throughout the day while you are travelling. The butlers will also help you with your personal requests, such as overseas purchase of performance tickets and gifts, international restaurant reservations and recommendations and facts on places and countries. To get the services of a butler, you will have to call at 1800 221 1111.

    Activating the Card for Overseas Use

    Yes, you will have to activate the magnetic stripe on your card if you want to use it overseas. You can activate your DBS credit card using Video Teller Machine, DBS/POSB ATM, digibank, SMS Banking or iBanking. If you have chosen to use iBanking, you will have to login using your PIN and User ID.

    Next, you will have to select the particular card and accept the terms and conditions and verify the details before submitting. The process is similar with digibank. If you opt for SMS Banking, you will have to SMS Activate last 4 digits of your card to 77767.

    Instalment Payment Plans

    With DBS instalment payment plan you can pay back your credit card dues in monthly instalments. DBS provides options to pay in 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months. You can choose to pay using the instalment payment plan before making a purchase at various partaking merchants. Once the payment is made, you will be charged the entire sum to your credit card which would reflect on the monthly statement. You can make use of the instalment payment plan at 0% interest.

    You can divide your payment with 0% interest and a small processing fee for a period of 24 months. With this plan, you can combine and convert a total of 10 transactions immediately.

    The instalment payment plan offered by DBS is administered by the following terms and conditions:

    • If you choose to surrender your credit card, then the instalment payment plan will no longer be valid and you will have to pay all unsettled balances on the credit card instantly.
    • If you choose to cancel the instalment payment plan, you will be charged an administrative fee of S$150.

    0% Instalment Payment Plan

    Enjoy 0% p.a. interest on purchases made at participating merchants in Singapore. Choose from 3-, 6-, 12-, 18- and 24-month tenures. The plan can be directly applied for at the merchant outlet by requesting for it.

    Cash Withdrawn On Credit Cards

    You can withdraw up to S$3,000 a day using your DBS credit card at DBS as well as POSB ATMs. There is no minimum withdrawal amount. Note that standard cash advance charges and interest rate will be applicable for every cash withdrawal you make using your card.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

    If you lose your DBS card or if it gets stolen, you must immediately report it to the bank. For assistance regarding fraudulent charges on your credit card, contact the bank on their hotline.

    Once you have reported the loss/theft, you will not be responsible for any fraudulent activity or misuse done using the card. You can then block the card using the online services offered by DBS. You can also apply for a replacement card instantly. If you manage to find your lost or stolen card, you must cut the card in half and return it to the bank.
