    Save More on Groceries With up to 10% Rebates

    Now you can save up to 10% every time you shop for groceries at Sheng Siong (including online stores and other retail groceries stores that are operated by the brand and its subsidiaries) and reduce your household expenses by that much. This rebate is made up of two segments – a 7% rebate and a 3% rebate. Right from the first S$1 you spend at the brand using this card and all the way up to S$1,000 for every billing cycle, you will get a cash rebate of 7%. The maximum amount of cash rebate you can accumulate every month is limited to S$70.

    In addition to this, if you spend at least S$400 on the card in purchases made outside the store in the same month as your spends at the brand, you are eligible for an extra rebate of 3%. The purchases outside the store include both local and overseas retail purchases that are made outside Sheng Siong. The amount you can collect every month in terms of this extra rebate is capped at S$20 for each month for every card account.

    If you’re someone who normally commutes via cabs and taxis in Singapore, you should make use of the rewards programme that this card offers to reduce your cab ride expenses. Every time you use the card to pay for your Grab and taxi rides in Singapore, you will get a rebate of 5%. This also applies to Uber rides that you take all over the world. In order to get this rate of rebate, you will have to spend a minimum of S$400 on eligible transactions every month on this BOC credit card. If your total monthly spend is less than S$400, you will only get the flat cash rebate of 0.3%. The total amount of cash rebate that you can accumulate for each billing cycle through this programme is limited to S$20.

    Activating the Card for Overseas Use

    Before you use your card overseas for point of sale transactions, you will need to activate the magnetic stripe on it. You can do this by calling the bank and following the instructions as relayed by the automated voice system. Once you complete these steps, your credit card can be used for overseas transactions immediately.

    To deactivate the magnetic stripe for overseas use, the same steps need to be followed. Make sure you deactivate this service as soon as you get back to Singapore from your trip abroad

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    With BOC’s Instalment Payment Plan (IPP), convert any big-ticket purchase into affordable instalments. You can choose tenures starting from 6 months up to 36 months.

    Convert purchases made at over 300 merchant outlets in Singapore into instalments. To be eligible for BOC’s IPP, the minimum purchase amount needs to be S$500. Transactions that are paid in instalments will not earn any cash rebate.

    Also, keep in mind that if you decide to close your IPP account before the completion of its tenure, you will be charged a redemption fee of S$150 or any other amount based on the bank’s discretion.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

    If your card is lost or stolen, you need to notify BOC immediately either by calling them or by informing them in writing. You will also need to file a report with the police and provide BOC with the copy of the same along with other documents that the bank may require.

    If the bank is satisfied that you were in no way directly or indirectly responsible for the loss of your card, you will not be held liable for transactions that have been charged to your card. Your liability for any unauthorised transactions will be limited to S$100.

    You can set up auto debit and standing instruction on your card by adding the billing organisation to whom the payment will be made. This can be done using Internet Banking.
