    Activating the Card for Overseas Expenses

    • Yes, it is mandatory to activate the magnetic stripe of your card for overseas use.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    • Convert your big-ticket card purchases into affordable monthly instalments with BOC’s interest-free instalment payment plan (IPP).
    • Choose a tenure from 6, 12, 24, and 36 months.
    • Value of purchase can’t be less than S$500.
    • Once you have selected a tenure, you can’t change it.
    • A fee of S$150 will be charged if you choose to terminate or make early repayment of your instalment payment plan.
    • The transaction amount should not exceed your available credit limit.

    Cash Withdrawal on the Credit Card

    • Withdraw cash with your card in case of an emergency.
    • Cash withdrawal limit is based on your available credit limit.
    • In Singapore, cash can be withdrawn through:
      • Personal internet banking.
      • Mobile banking.
      • BOC ATMs.
      • Bank branches.
      • 24-hour hotline.
    • Outside Singapore, cash can be withdrawn through any Cirrus/PLUS ATM.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

    • Notify the bank by doing one of the following:
      • Calling the customer service helpline number.
      • By sending a letter.
    • File a police complaint and submit a copy of the same along with a letter to the bank confirming the theft, loss or misuse of the credit card.
    • Your liability for unauthorised transactions on your card will be limited to S$100 if it is proven that the loss/theft/misuse wasn’t due to your negligence or complicity in the fraud.

    How to Enable/Disable Auto Debit & Standing Instructions

    Through Online Banking

    To enable the auto debit facility on your credit card, apply for Bank of China’s Personal Online Banking facility. Once you have done this, log into your account and complete the following steps:

    • Select ‘Bill Payment’ and then select ‘Bill Payee Management’.
    • Select the billing organisation you want to add and provide the bill reference number.
    • Once you do this, enter the amount that needs to be auto-debited from your account each month.

    To disable this facility, navigate to ‘Scheduled Bill Management’ and cancel all or any of your unprocessed bill payments.

    How to Apply for the Card & Check the Application Status

    Through Mail/Fax and Follow Up With the Bank

    Download and send the completed form and required documents to the bank through:

    • Fax
    • Mail using the business reply envelope.

    Check the status of your application by calling their 24-hour Customer Service Hotline. It takes around 2 weeks for new card applications to be processed.

    How to Check Balance

    Through Internet Banking

    If you are a registered BOC internet banking user, then you can check the balance available on your credit card by just logging into your account.

    How Can the Bill Be Paid?

    Through GIRO/AXS/Telephone Banking/Cheque/Cash

    Your bill can be paid by using any of the following modes of payment:

    • AXS Stations.
    • Inter-bank GIRO.
    • Telephone banking.
    • Via cheque or money order drawn on a Singapore bank.
    • Via cash at Bank of China’s main branch in Singapore or any of its sub-branches.

    How Much Is the Minimum Payment to Be Made on the Card?

    3% of the Outstanding Balance or Min. S$50

    • The minimum amount you need to pay every month is 3% of the outstanding balance as well as any outstanding minimum payment amount and any amount that is over your approved credit limit.
    • If this amounts to less than S$50, then the minimum amount to be paid each month will be S$50.

    What Is the Grace Period?

    23 Days

    You receive an interest-free period of 23 days.

    How to Block or Unblock the Card?

    Call Customer Service

    If your card is missing or has been stolen, you can block your card by calling BOC’s 24-hour Customer Service Hotline.

    To unblock your card, call the hotline and follow the instructions provided.

    How to Reset the PIN?

    Through Tele-Banking/Customer Service Hotline

    If you are a registered tele-banking user, then you can reset your 6-digit PIN via this facility. If you aren’t a registered tele-banking member, then call BOC’s customer service hotline to reset your PIN.

    What Is the Billing Cycle and the Bill Due Date?

    1 Month

    You will receive your credit card statement Every month form the date of which your application was approved. If you opt for e-statements, then you will be able to view your bill 7 working days prior to your statement date.

    The due date by which the minimum or the complete payment must be made will be reflected on your statement. Any payments made post this date will be charged a late fee.

    How to Get a Replacement Card?

    The bank, will at its discretion provide you with replacement cards if your current card expires. In case of loss or theft of your card, you will be issued with a replacement card once you call the 24-hour customer service hotline.

    How to Temporarily Increase the Limit of the Card

    The bank offers a permanent increase of your credit limit for up to 2x your monthly salary. However, you will be required to submit an application along with your income proof documents for the same.
