    BOC Qoo10 Platinum MasterCard for Students


    The BOC Qoo10 Platinum Mastercard is meant for students (no income requirement), and for working adults who are at least 21 years old or more earning a minimum of S$18,000 p.a. and less than S$30,000 p.a. It rewards you with a 10% rebate when you use it to pay for your public transportation expenses such as MRT and bus fares. It also gives you 3% rebates when you purchase from Qoo10 and on other categories such as taxi rides, entertainment spends, online shopping, dining, and even on overseas spends. Every other transaction not already covered is eligible to get a rebate rate of 0.3%. To get these rates of rebates, you need to spend at least S$200 every month. The total amount you can accumulate in the form of rebates is capped at S$30 every month.

    With up to 10% Rebates, It’s Rewards Galore

    Every time you spend on public transport, this card gives you 10% rebates. The next time you dine out with your friends or family, charging the bill to your card can earn you a 3% rebate. The same rate of rewards applies to expenditures relating to taxi rides (including Grab spends), entertainment spends at clubs, pubs, karaoke, cinemas, and more. It also applies to purchases you make when you’re overseas. All other transactions earn you a rebate of 0.3%. Keep in mind that there is a cap of S$30 on the monthly rebates you can accumulate. However, till 31 December 2018, this cap does not apply to spends related to dining. So dine out as much as you want till the calendar end of this year and enjoy unlimited rebates when you pay your food bills with this credit card.

    Activating the Card for Overseas Use

    • Activate your card before making an overseas trip. This will be needed for withdrawing money and for making retail transactions.
    • Most retailers use magnetic-strip compliant payment terminals overseas. Without activating your EMV card, you won’t be able to use it at retail stores. Your EMV card can, however, be used for online transactions even without overseas activation.
    • Your card can be used immediately after a successful activation.
    • Call the dedicated 24x7 helpline to activate your card for overseas use.
    • De-activate your card after returning to Singapore. You can also set your activation expiry date at the time of card activation. The magnetic stripe will be deactivated automatically on the date of expiry.

    Instalment Payment Plans

    • Purchase big-ticket items conveniently with the bank’s 0% Interest Instalment Payment Plan (IPP).
    • Instead of paying the full value of the item upfront, you can spread the payment over 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, or 36 months. This stretches your dollars at no extra cost.
    • This plan can be used at more than 322 merchants across Singapore.
    • The plan can be activated only if the price of the item bought is S$500 or more.
    • The purchase value will be deducted from the credit limited available from your card initially. It will be progressively restored with successful instalment payments.
    • The tenure, once locked, can’t be changed.
    • On prepayment, a redemption fee of S$150 will be levied.
    • If the plan is terminated by you prematurely or the bank terminates your card account or the plan, the full outstanding balance becomes immediately payable.

    • Your card can be used to withdraw cash through multiple modes.
    • The amount of cash you can withdraw will depend on the credit limit available on your card.
    • A cash advance fee will be imposed if you use your card to withdraw cash.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

    • Inform the bank of the incident as soon as you discover the incident.
    • File a police report and provide a copy of the same to the bank, if asked for.
    • Make a statutory declaration if asked for.
    • Liability for loss, misuse or theft of card will be limited to S$100, provided:
      • You weren’t directly or indirectly involved in a fraudulent act that led to the incident.
      • You weren’t proven to be grossly negligent in handling of your card.
      • You cooperated with the bank through its investigation into the matter.
    • You may have to pay other fees as determined by the bank.
    • The bank may waive off these charges at its sole discretion.

    Use your internet banking account to set up auto debit for payment of card bills and enjoy the following:

    • Reliable and hassle-free payment.
