You will earn a cash rebate of 0.5% on your monthly statement amount. You can earn this rebate only up to spends of S$500 per month. Yes, you have to activate your BOC card if you want to use it overseas. The bank has added extra security to protect its customers against fake transactions performed by unauthorised parties. However, you can still use your card for making purchases online at overseas websites.
To make the card ready for overseas transactions, call the bank’s 24x7 hotline number. Once you’re back in Singapore, you also need to deactivate the card.

You are expected to be cautious with your card’s usage, and ensure the safety of your card and PIN. In case you lose your card or if it is stolen, you must instantly report it to the bank. To do that, call the bank’s Customer Service Hotline number, or inform the bank in writing.
