    Activating the Card for Overseas Expenses

    Yes, if you want to use your BOC card overseas, you have to activate it. BOC has put an extra security layer to protect customers against all types of fraudulent transactions carried out by unauthorised personnel. However, you can continue using your card to make online purchases at overseas websites. You can call the 24-hour customer service hotline number to activate your card for overseas use.

    Instalment Payment Plans Available

    With your BOC card, you can pay your large purchases through instalments of 6, 12, 24 and 36 months with no extra cost. However, the payments should be done through cards issued locally. If you give up your instalment plan early or if you prepay, you will be charged a redemption fee of S$150.

    You are also not permitted to change the instalment sum or its tenure. The minimum sum for purchasing goods and services from the preferred merchant shall be S$500. You will not get any rewards points or cash rebate for payments made through the instalment plan.

    Lost/Stolen Cards

    You are expected to ensure the safety of your cards and PIN. If you lose your credit card or if it gets stolen, you must immediately report the incident to the bank. You can do so by informing the bank in writing or by calling the Customer Service Hotline number.

    You will also have to make a police complaint along with a written confirmation of the theft, loss or misuse of the card or disclosure of the PIN. You should also provide all relevant information that the bank may find useful.

    Your obligation for any unauthorised use of the card is not more than S$100 if you have been careful and not acted deceitfully or informed the bank quickly after knowing that the card has been lost.

    How to Enable/Disable Auto Debit & Standing Instructions

    Through Online Banking

    You can enable or disable the auto debit feature, follow the steps below:

    • Log in to your internet banking account.
    • Add the reference number and the entity to which you want the money to be paid.
    • Next, choose to either have a scheduled payment or have the payment done immediately.
    • It will take approximately 2 to 3 working days for the bank to process the payment request.

    To disable this service, go to bill payment management and change the date or revoke the payment.

    You will get an interest-free period of 23 days from the due date only if all the pending dues are entirely paid.

    To block your BOC card, you will have to talk to your bank representative by calling at the 24/7 hotline number. You will have to follow the same procedure to unblock your card.

    How to Reset the PIN?

    • Register for tele-banking and reset your PIN.

    What Is the Billing Cycle and the Bill Due Date?

    The billing cycle can either be a calendar month or 30 days from the date your card got approved. The bill due date that will be stated on the statement is the date by which you need to make the full payment.
