Your CPF Statement, also known as CPF Contribution History, is a document from the Central Provident Fund confirming the contributions made towards your CPF accounts. The onus of putting money in your CPF account rests with the employer, but you need to check it periodically to ensure that the required amount is being added to your CPF account. You should also cross-check the amount and other details with your monthly salary slip.
Employers are required to pay the contributions within 14 days from the end of each month. This amount is credited to your CPF account within 3 to 7 business days. So you should check your CPF statements anytime after the third week of a given month.
CPF Statement for Employees
Employees need to first know their CPF contribution amount. The allocation of CPF among different accounts – the Ordinary, Special, Medisave and Retirement Accounts – is predetermined as per the salary.
An average CPF Contribution History Statement looks like this. It will have your name, your CPF account number, the amounts paid each month and by which date, and the company’s or employer’s name.
CPF Statement for Employers
Employers can pay the CPF amount for their employees electronically through e-Submission, or through direct debit, eNETS or at AXS stations through Diners Club Card or NETS card. If you have paid more amount than necessary, you can apply for adjustment or refund within 12 months from the date the payment was made.
Companies cannot access the CPF Statements for employees – whether they are working with them or are potential employees. Checking a CPF Contribution Statement requires authentication from the person who holds the account. So your CPF Contribution History is personal and needs to be presented only for situations where it is required – for example, when you are applying for credit products such as credit card, personal loan, home loan, car loan, etc.
How to get CPF Statement and check CPF Contribution History
To check your CPF Statement, you need to log into your CPF Account through the My CPF Online Services. For this, you need a SingPass ID and password. You should also link your mobile number and email address with SingPass to allow the 2FA – double security – authentication.
Once you log in, go to the ‘My Statement’ option. Choose ‘Section B – Transaction and Contribution History’ where you will find the following options:
- Transaction history up to the last 15 months
- Contribution history up to the last 15 months
- Yearly Statement of Account for the previous 5 years
- Yearly Minimum Sum Topping-Up Scheme Statement for the previous 5 years
Once you choose the kind of information you want, you can select the period for which you want the details, and proceed.
You will be able to download the document in PDF format through Adobe Acrobat or PDF Reader. Save this to your computer/laptop and either upload the file or take a print, as per your requirement. If you just want to check the information, you may not want to download it, especially if you are on a public computer.
