    BOC Student Credit Cards

    Bank of China offers numerous BOC credit cards specifically to target certain sections of the Singaporean audience such as family credit cards, shopping credit cards, travel credit cards, etc. For students and employees just starting off with their career, BOC offers the BOC F1RST Card which will earn you cash rebate on purchases and annual fee waiver.

    Features and Benefits of the BOC Student Credit Card

    • Enjoy annual fee waiver on this credit card for 2 years.
    • Earn 0.5% cash rebate on your total monthly bill on your credit card statement up to spends of S$500.
    • Maximum cash rebate of S$2.50 per billing cycle will be awarded on this card.

    Interest Rates on BOC Studnets Card

    BOC charges a monthly interest rate of 2.16% and an annual interest rate of 25.88% on this credit card. The minimum interest charged per month is S$3. If you do not make the full outstanding payment on your credit card by your payment due date, the interest on your outstanding balance will be computed every day from the date of your previous credit card statement and the same will be applied to all new transactions made on your card.

    Interest will not be charged if the outstanding balance is paid in full every month by the payment due date and you do not carry any balance forward from your last statement date.

    The interest free period on this credit card is 23 days from your credit card statement date if you pay your outstanding balances in full.

    Fees on BOC F1rst Credit Card

    Cash advance fee 6% of the withdrawn amount or S$20, depending on whichever of the two is higher.
    Interest on cash advance 28% p.a. with a minimum fee of S$3.
    Late payment fee 5% of the minimum amount due on your monthly credit card statement with a minimum fee of S$100.
    Minimum payment per month S$50 OR 3% of your credit card statement balance + outstanding minimum payment due (if applicable) + excess amount of your credit limit (if applicable), depending on whichever of the two is higher.
    Fees charged on foreign currency transactions

      • Administrative fee charged by BOC - 1.5% of the transaction amount.

      • Cross-border fee charged by Visa - 1% of the transaction amount.

    DCC or Dynamic Currency Conversion charges All transactions made in Singapore Dollars (SGD) but processed overseas will be charged a fee of 0.8% by Visa.

    Eligibility Criteria for BOC Student Credit Card

    You must meet the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for this credit card:

    • Nationality criterion:
      • Students - Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents and Foreigners are eligible to apply.
      • Working adults - Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible to apply.
    • Age criterion:
      • Minimum age for students - 18 years old.
      • Minimum age for working adults - 21 years old.
    • Income criterion:
      • Students - No income requirement.
      • Working adults - Minimum income of S$18,000 per annum.

    Documents Required for BOC Student Credit Card

    Tertiary students must submit the following documents to apply for this credit card:

    • A front and back copy of your NRIC.
    • A copy of your Matriculation Card or Student ID Card.
    • For students below the age of 21, following documents must be additionally submitted:
      • A front and back copy your parent or legal guardian's NRIC.
      • A copy of the "Legal Documentation of Guardianship" if your legal guardian has offered consent.

    Working adults must submit the following documents to apply for this credit card:

    • A front and back copy of your NRIC.
    • Salaried employees must additionally submit the following income documents:
      • Your most recent computerised payslip OR
      • Your most recent Income Tax NOA (Notice of Assessment) + your most recent computerised payslip OR
      • Your latest 6 months' CPF Contribution History statement.
    • Self-employed, commission-based employees and variable income employees must additionally submit the following income documents:
      • Your latest 2 years' Income Tax NOA (Notice of Assessment) OR
      • Your latest 12 months' CPF Contribution History statement.

    How to apply for Student Credit Card with BOC

    You can follow the simple steps below to apply for this credit card:

    • Visit BOC's Singapore website and navigate to the BOC F1RST Card webpage.
    • On this webpage, click on the "Apply Now" option.
    • You will be directed to the "Forms Download" webpage to download the application form for this card.
    • Download this application form, take a printout and complete the form.
    • Mail the application form along with all the required documents to BOC on the address mentioned on the form.

    How to cancel BOC Student Card

    If you wish to cancel your BOC student Card, please contact BOC's Customer Service at 1800 338 5335. This number is available for assistance 24 hours a day.
