    Types of AXA Personal Accident Insurance plans

    AXA Smart PA

    This insurance plan provides you comprehensive accidental cover for yourself and your children. Be smart with accident insurance to assure that you and your family will be protected in the event of something unfortunate. You must be 60 years or below to be eligible for this plan.

    Features:

    • Lump sum benefit of up to 100% of the sum assured in case of death by accident.
    • Lump sum benefit of up to 150% of the sum assured in case of total and permanent disability.
    • Double indemnity of 300% if the accident occurs while on public transport, or if you are a fare-paying customer.
    • Free child cover if sum assured on main policyholder is S$500,000 and above. A maximum of 3 children are covered against accidental death for up to 10% of the sum assured at no additional costs.

    • Children must be 15days-18 years who are unemployed and unmarried. If enrolled in an educational institution, the age limit is extended to 25 years.
    • Singapore citizens and permanent residents, or others who hold a valid student pass, employment, long term social visit and dependant passes.
    • Class 1 and 2 occupations who are involved in indoor, non-manual and non-hazardous work.
    • Spouse or child’s plan cannot be higher than the policyholder’s. A child can avail of maximum 50% of the main sum assured, and must be insured with at least one parent.

    2. You must submit a written notice informing AXA about any event which will lead to claiming insurance within 6 months of the date of the accident.

      • Original Medical Bills/Final Hospital Bill (You can make a copy for yourself)
      • Medical Report (for hospitalization/surgery in a private hospital)

      • Copy of Referral Letter for Physiotherapy/Chiropractic treatment (if applicable)

    7. What qualifies as total and permanent disability?
    8. Any accident that causes you to be unable to work for pay is considered as total and permanent disability (TPD). Some examples are loss of sight, loss of speech, loss of use of limbs, paralysis, being bedridden, etc. Simply being unable to perform the same task as before or what you are educationally qualified or trained to do will not qualify as TPD. A list of disabilities covered will be provided to you in the policy document.

    9. What are the exclusions for which this insurance policy will not cover?

Generally, the exclusions are self-inflicted injury, suicide, willfully exposing yourself to danger other than to save another life, abuse of alcohol or drugs, AIDS and a number of other situations. It also does not cover certain hazardous occupations like air crew, oil rigs, ship crew, divers, professional sportsperson, fire-fighting, police, naval, military, air force service, etc.
